Ubi Cigar updates as often as possible throughout the week; weekends tend to be a bit hectic for me, so it will be a rare review that occurs after friday and before monday.
Who?
Ubi Cigar is owned and operated by university student and future psychologist Joe Treff. That’s me. I enjoy playing video games (Xbox Live Tag: Beta Synn,) movies, music from alternative rock to zydeco, and of course, cigars and the culture that comes with them. I am also a bit of a tech geek and try to support myself and my cigar hobby by helping others with computers. I started this site because I believe cigars should be available to people of all walks of life. I tend to roll with the stronger cigars, and so you’ll see the majority of reviews here span the medium to full range, but from time to time you’ll see me review something on the lighter side.
What?
Ubi Cigar is a cigar review blog, a cigar news source, a personal smoking journal for myself, hopefully a place to find other enthusiasts, and an all-around decent source of information. Ubi stands for ubiquitous, which in and of itself means “omnipresent.” The message I’m trying to send is that cigars are for people from all walks of life to enjoy; not just the old men in business suits, lighting their stogies up with hundred-dollar bills. I’m trying to carve out my little niche in the online cigar world, and I’d love for it to be accessible to people from all walks of life. To sum it all up, Ubi Cigar is a place to learn and teach anyone and everyone about cigars.
Where?
Online, silly. It’s a blog, after all. But I am located in New York.
Why?
There are dozens of other review sites, so why would I want to toss my hat in the ring? I guess the answer is, I feel like we represent that cigars should be for everyone, not just upper class stereotype. We sort of have a message that, especially now with tons of great blends at decent prices on the market, many people outside of the perceived ‘norm’ are getting into cigars. We want to represent that.
